Doula Support Options

Labour Virtual & In-Person Support
Birthing Room
  • 2 prenatal visits 

  • 24/7 Text/Email/Phone Supportfrom 38 weeks

  • 24/7 On-Call - 2 weeks before due date until the birth

  • Continuous support from active labour

  • Stays with you 1-2 hours after birth

  • 1 postpartum 1-2 hour visit

Both virtual and in-person labour support options review medical interventions, options, risks and benefits, discuss various options to ease pain and help labour progress, teach exercises for deep breathing and connecting with baby, offer assistance in planning and writing a birth plan, offer assistance in self advocating during labour, provide assistance in breastfeeding, discuss any concerns or questions you have and provide local resources to you.

Virtual support is offered strictly through the internet with no in-person contact. In-person prenatal and postpartum visits can be conducted in your home or at an off-site location near your home of your choice.                                                                                                       

Virtual labour support will not be provided if a licensed medical professional is not present for the birth.

  • Support mom with emotional and physical recovery  Phone/Text/Email support (7 am to 7 pm)and/or virtual meetings

  • Answer questions regarding the birth  Assistance with newborn care questions

  • Offer baby soothing suggestions

  • Referrals to local resources such aspediatricians, lactation and parenting groups

  • Provide evidence based information

In-Person Support

  • Support mom with emotional and physical recovery

  • Phone/Text/Email support

  • Provide newborn care such as bathing, feeding, comforting and diapering

  • Light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, tidying, etc)

  • Light meal preparation

  • Referrals to local resources such aspediatricians, lactation and parenting groups

  • Provide evidence based information

  • Overnight support
