The face behind Doula Every Body

I am Jennifer Waterman and I am the mother of eight children and the face behind Doula Every Body.  As a mother, I have experienced seven different labors, including one set of twins.  I too have also suffered losses at different stages of pregnancy.  Each of my pregnancies and losses have been uniquely different from one another and only illustrate that every woman’s birth experience is as unique to one other as they are from culture to culture and woman to woman.  Of all my births, my first is the one that stands out, as it was my entry into motherhood.  I walked into pregnancy with all the fears of impeding labour and waltzed out with empowerment and joy.  Since then, I’ve had a range of different birthing experiences from unmedicated, all natural, at home, in hospital, medicated, induced and spontaneous labours.  My vast array of personal birthing experiences, are a valuable asset to a diverse range of women with varying needs.  These experiences and the love of motherhood has shaped my desire to empower women with evidence-based information to make informed choices around themselves and their babies, provide continuous labor support and to assist in having the best positive birth outcome possible.
